The Lorain County Safe Community Coalition has impaired driving graphics and poster files available for use in schools, work sites and agencies. St. Patrick's Day Resources
St. Patrick's Day is a fun time to celebrate Irish heritage. Unfortunately, it has become a holiday centered around alcohol.

Statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) show that over the past five years, 851 people lost their lives in motor vehicles crashes during the St. Patrick's Day holiday. Out of that number, 327 were killed in crashes that involved a drunk driver or motorcycle rider with a blood alcohol concentration of .08 or higher.

Motorcycle Safety
This site was a created through a collaboration with the University of Akron and the Center for Transportation Safety and Innovation in order to provide guidance to those seeking to enhance motorcycling safety at the national, state and local levels. Crashes in Lorain County support research showing that more than half of all multi-vehicle motorcycle crashes are caused by other vehicles violating the right-of-way of a motorcyclist.
